Lost Souls

The Standing With Giants volunteers and friends look back on how World War I affected British life over the four years of the war and beyond. As the young men went off to fight, women and those who for whatever reason couldn’t join them took up the slack at home by volunteering or training in new trades previously unaccessible to them.

The story so far…

In just three years the Standing with Giants project has grown from a 'pop-up' display on a windy Oxfordshire hillside, to major installations spanning 8000 miles from Blenheim and Hampton Court Palaces to barren landscapes in the Falkland Islands - watch this short video and learn more about our exciting journey so far...

Letters Home

This video shows the sheer scale of the huge 300 soldier silhouette and 255 poppy wreath installation at the National Trust's Waddesdon Manor, Buckinghamshire, throughout November 2021. The powerful intro depicting members of 'Oxf & Bucks Living History Society' dressed in WW1 soldier attire is followed by readings of letters written on the front line - read by, Robert Powell, Rebekah Staton, and Julian Rhind-Tutt.

Playing with Giants

They gave their tomorrow so Poppy can have her today. Standing With Giants remembering on Armistice Day 2020 at Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire, UK that we must never forget all those who have fought for our freedom.

NHS Tribute installation

In 2021 we introduced our NHS inspired tribute installation in memory of the frontline workers who lost the battle against Covid-19 whilst looking after others. The Installation has been displayed in Oxford and Coventry so far....
