The People’s Tribute

87 Community Groups/Organisations took part in a 2 hour session to contribute to the People's Tribute for the 80th Anniversary of D-Day

Over the past 4 years we have made the components for 1,475 life-size soldier silhouettes, and during January - March 2024 we invited organisations and community groups to visit us in Oxfordshire to help paint and assemble a number of figures. We are a very inclusive group, and aimed to get as many different organisations and people to participate so they can be part of this momentous occasion.

● In our Oxfordshire workshop, we hosted 87 groups, ranging from a minimum of 8 participants to a maximum of 15.

● We gave a short presentation about Standing with Giants.

● Groups helped assemble and pack approximately 10 silhouettes.

● Groups took part in a photo opportunity in front of our Normandy 80 backdrop; some organisations wore their uniforms.

● Groups help paint approximately 10 to 20 figures and 10 frames ready for the next group that visited. We had aprons and gloves available.

● The time we allocated per group visit was approximately 2 hours; visits were arranged days, evenings, and weekends throughout January, February and March 2024.
