‘I WANT TO LIVE’
Bournemouth will stand with Ukraine as it hosts the Standing with Giants installation ‘I Want to Live’ in The Triangle, marking the one-year anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine.
March 20th - April 5th
The Standing with Giants team are hopeful that the presence of the ‘I want to live’ tribute may help promote the amazing work of the charity Ukraine Relief based in Bournemouth. This organisation is working so hard to support their fellow Ukrainians. Ukraine Relief is a significant project that our installation will be helping to raise awareness and funds for. There is a display board with their QR code displayed to enable charitable donations to be made.
Dan Barton founder of Standing with Giants says “it's so important that we continue to donate the items so badly needed which are listed on Ukrainian Relief’s website. Their turnaround time is astonishing, and they've managed to create an amazing network of couriers to get the aid where it's needed. I hope people will find ways to support them. I know the British people are brilliant at supporting funding drives, but we need to keep up sustained and continuous support if we can”.
The Bournemouth Town Centre BID have been instrumental in bringing the installation to Bournemouth by supporting the Standing with Giants visit.
Paul Kinvig, Chief Operating Officer, Bournemouth Town Centre BID said “This, thought-provoking sculpture is another great way for the town to show solidarity with Ukraine. It’s an honour to be able to help bring a nationally recognised piece of work to the town centre. It forms an important part of the wider, ambitious cultural offering for Bournemouth and will be a great utilisation of the community space at the Triangle.”
Thank you to the Events Team at Bournemouth City Council for providing the space for us to display
